I wasn’t even supposed to be at that event.
But there she was, across the room sipping a flute of champagne. She was impossible to ignore. Something about her captivated me. I found myself wondering what she laughed like, what books she read, what stories she’d tell. I didn’t know her name or anything about her, but I knew this: she was refined, radiant, and her smile was sincere.
She was a work of art from head to toe. Every detail told me she had taste — the way her red dress framed her figure, the way she moved, her cherry red lipstick. I don’t normally notice things like a woman’s jewelry, unless it is something big and gaudy, but I noticed her necklace. It was not so small as to disappear but not so big as to be a distraction. It's fiery red flowed like liquid flame, and it adorned her neckline as if she was born to wear it. Like her, it was unique, graceful, and charming.
And that was my cue, I shook off a few nerves and strolled over to her. I took a deep breath and asked "I have never seen a necklace like that, does it have a story?"

About "The Lady in Red"
This one-of-a-kind Rosarita fantasy style pendant is carved from a rare, slag glass. Rosarita is a by-product of 1970s gold smelting. Rosarita is not technically a stone, still, it is coveted by jewelers for its rich red color. This 41.9 ct piece of wearable art, was hand-sculpted with love by Anthony Garcia in Albuquerque, NM.
It measures 1.25" high by 1" across, and it about 1/4' thick.
